Lance looks up with a very serious expression. Hesitant to answer. He finally sighs before nodding his head. “Yes it does. It always does. It probably always will. These are people I see everyday. Fight besides every time we go to battle. You get to know some of them very well. An to watch them die or know they have fallen… It leaves a mark behind on your soul. If it ever stops bothering me… Well I will wonder if I have finally broken. Feeling for the death of comrades is part of life. Especially for those in Ishgard who have lived in war for so long.”

“Ha! Who are you trying to kid? I don’t have comrades. I have people who are useful at times but when their usefulness has ended then who cares if they live or die.” Alex sneers boldly as he sharpens the head on his lance. Admiring the way the light shines off the metal. “I’ve killed people who were supposed to be my comrades. Watching them die doesn’t bother me.”
