Fingers gently ran over the hair piece. A gift from Nate at Starlight. It had been the best item she had received all night. Not that she hadn’t loved the others gifts. This one merely had more meaning.

That bit of white ribbon woven between the purple flowers. Hands reached up to touch where that ribbon had once had a home upon her head. It seemed like forever ago. The ribbon had been removed the first time she had cut her hair. Right after Leon had passed away. She had given up on the girl she had used to be and began trying to find out who she was to become. That ribbon was a part of the past. However she had kept it as a reminder.

Yet when she had given it to Nate as a good luck charm in his spar against Raiden… It had been damaged. No longer wearable. She had played it off as not important. Just a reminder of the girl she once was. Nate however had found a way to make it into something new. Something touching. It meant so much more to her to see it changed from something old into something new. A new beginning for something from the past. Just as she had once chosen a new beginning for herself.
