Q&A Part 4 Round Table

Well, well, well… we’re all back again are we? Given some of your
answers, I’m mainly glad you’re all still here to answer these.

Well, right to business then. It looks like our readers picked
something of an overarching topic today. Everyone seated where they want? Good.

Faith is a belief in the right things. Who or what would you say you
have the most faith in?

Dest: “The Twelve. I have faith they have something in store for all of us.”
Stefan: “Myself of course. Why not?”
Lance: “Halone. May she guide my blade.”
Alex: “Myself. Like hells if I’m put my faith in anyone else.” Looking slightly grumpy before mumbling. “An maybe Anata, Sanagi, and L’ania.”
Marielle: “My kin and myself.”

Pride is an excessive belief in one’s own abilities. In what do you
take the most pride? A particular skill? A remarkable achievement?

Dest: “My learning skills. I usually catch on rather quickly to things. Most of the time. Especially when it comes to healing.”
Stefan: “My skills with aether. Not just your average person advances to the stage of summoning a ruby carbuncle. Nor as young as I managed it.”
Lance: “Being a good knight. Not easily corrupted like some.”
Alex: “Surviving?” A shrug as he puts his feet up on the table.
Marielle: “That despite the things that have happened to me, I can still have optimism.”

Hope is taking a positive future view, that good will prevail. What
would you say that you hope for the most?

Dest: “A happy future with Syl and maybe a kid or two of our own.”
Stefan: “Finding exactly where I belong.”
Lance: “Marrying Miu. Hoping Miu is still safe out there right now.”
Alex: “Not much right now. Just that I survive another day. Apparently I got friends now that would worry about me.”
Marielle: “Getting this cursed removed.”

Envy is wanting what others have, be it status, abilities, or
possessions. Is there someone or something you are envious of? It doesn’t have
to be a huge all-consuming envy, even something small.

Dest: “No I don’t think so. I have a lot already to be thankful for. Why should I be envious?”
Stefan: “No comment…” Frowning and looking away.
Lance: “A small one perhaps. I envy the strength Raiden has. Not that I want what happened to him to gain that, to happen to me. So I shall settle for continuing to work at it.”
Alex: “Of course I do. Everyone of those bastards that had an easy life. As if I wanted the piss poor hand I got dealt.”
Marielle: “I envy nothing. Miss things perhaps but that is different then envy.”

Charity is concern for, and active helping of, others. Do you believe
yourself to exhibit this virtue? Be it yours or another’s, what act or moment
stands out for you as a charitable one?

Dest: “I work as a healer because I want to help others. Because no one should have to watch someone they love die if I can do something to prevent it.“
Stefan: “….” A long moment of silence. “I helped Miss Yuti and two others pass out medicines to some refugees.”
Lance: “Helping out in the Brume when I can, even if it is just to patrol and keep things a little safer for someone else.”
Alex: “Ha! Not really. Not unless we count going to help L’ania and not killing Miss Kyis.”
Marielle: “I do what I can. Even if it is providing someone with herbal medicines.”

Gluttony is the desire to eat or consume more than you require. What is
the one thing best guaranteed to show off your gluttonous side?

Dest: A faint blush. “Sweets.”
Stefan: “Books.”
Lance: “Hmm. I’m not sure I have much of a ‘gluttonous’ side. Or at least I try not to.”
Alex: “One thing? Hells. All three rate equally. Booze, women, and gil.”
Marielle: “Spicy foods. Especially if it is a meat.”

Fortitude is never giving up. With as many strong willed people as
there are here, I imagine this will prompt good responses. What is it you would
never give up on? Is it a person, a goal?

Dest: “Family and loved ones. I want to keep them safe and alive.”
Stefan: “It is my goal to not allow others to keep putting me down. I will show them I am stronger then they believe.”
Lance: “Protecting is my thing. I would never give up on anyone in need. Does not matter if it’s a stranger. I am a knight and I will do my duty.”
Alex: “Living I guess.”
Marielle: “Getting this curse removed. While I am content to be as I am for the moment there are also things I miss. So I will not give up on this.”

Lust is a powerful craving for things such as sex and power. Do you
feel that you give in to those temptations easily? What do you lust after the
most?

Dest: A very clear blush this time. “N-No!” Looks down at her cup, playing with the edge. Her voice low. “Not anymore anyways. Just Syluss.”
Stefan: “Lust? Really?” Waves a hand and scoffs. “Go away.”
Lance: “I do not give in to temptation easily. Not unless it’s for a good spar.”
Alex: “Probably more then people think I should. Hard to resist a good roll between the sheets.”
Marielle: “No not really. I do not really understand the concept.”

Justice is being fair and equitable with others. It is the guiding
principle of certain Dark Knights. Do you believe in justice? Is such a thing
possible in the world we live in?

Dest: “Yes and no. There is always corruption and weeding it all out is difficult. I believe justice is necessary yes. But it is fair justice that is difficult.”
Stefan: “I think it is fair to expect fair justice for all. Is it reasonable? Not so much in this world.”
Lance: “Of course. I would love to see fair justice for all. I shall continue striving for a world where this is possible.”
Alex: “HA! What a pipe dream. It ain’t possible.”
Marielle: “Depends. Not everyone has the same concept of justice. What some find cruel, it is fair to others. Getting people to agree on a common is difficult.”

Anger is the loss of rational self-control and the desire to harm
others. Are you one to lose control to your anger? What was the worst case of
letting it loose that comes to mind?

Dest: “No. Not often at least. The worst was my attempt at revenge.”
Stefan: “Depends on the situation. Harassment? Teasing? Yes. Easily. Other wise I am able to reasonable keep my temper usually.”
Lance: “Only over certain things. It is something that has occurred more recently that I do not wish to discuss so openly.”
Alex: “…. I haven’t recently. But I have on more then one time. Care to test that?”
Marielle: “Not usually. I tend to be fairly even tempered. Only on one occasion have I lost my temper but the situation called for it. They deserved their fate.”

Prudence is care of and moderation with gil. This one is a bit simpler.
Are you a gil-pincher or do you spend with abandon?

Dest: “I don’t keep a tight leash on my gil but I do try to spend it wisely. After all I do have a future with Syl I should be saving gil for. But I still have to buy the occasional pretty outfit.”
Stefan: “I save what I can. Living on my own has taught me well how hard life can be. I shall not waste my gil frivolously.”
Lance: “I never really worried too much about spending the gil I earned too often. Though I was never really saving it for anything either. Now it comes in handy since I can not rely on my family anymore.”
Alex: “My gil. I’ll spend it however I damn well please. Ain’t none of your damn business.”
Marielle: “Most of the time I tend to barter with medicines or things I have gathered. I only need gil for those things I can not acquire on my own.”

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain. Some might think this
goes hand in hand with prudence but that is not the case. Even those who string
their gil-pouches tightest can be known for their charity or simply do not fret
over making more gil. Are you a take-take-take sort? Is the gathering of wealth
important to you?

Dest: “I have healed people for free. Healing should never be limited to only those that can afford it. For the most part I like to earn the gil I do get. I only need enough to be comfortable. Anything more I tend to use to help others when I see something worth it.”
Stefan: “I am not a charity. If people need something they should earn it. I only earn what I need. I am not wealthy nor do I have any delusions of ever being wealthy.”
Lance: “Wealth isn’t important to me. Never has been.”
Alex: “Who doesn’t need more gil? I’ll take it.”
Marielle: “Why should I care about wealth? Wealth does me no good back home.”

Temperance is moderation of needed things and abstinence from things
which are not needed. In essence it is the opposite of gluttony. Is there
anything that you find you abstain from that you wish you did not?

Dest: “Nothing that I can really think of. At least not right now. Ask again later.”
Stefan: “No.”
Lance: “Not really? I abstain from drinking but it is for a very good reason.”
Alex: “Hell no. I do what I want. When I want. Why hold back?”
Marielle: “I must hold back on my curiousity at times. There are many things I do not understand. Others look at me funny sometimes if I am too curious about things that are natural for them.”

Sloth is laziness and the avoidance of work. Somehow I don’t see that
being of much concern with this group, but what would you say is your laziest
habit?

Dest: “Sitting inside on a rainy day with a good book.”
Stefan: “Researching is not lazy. It is merely a less active habit.”
Lance: “Relaxing at the beach. I do not take much time to laze about.”
Alex: “Whatever I please. Though I’m rarely idle.”
Marielle: “Enjoying a good storm.”

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to give some
insight into your inner thoughts for our readers. I know today’s questions were
a little tougher than some of the ones before but I hope you don’t begrudge me
asking you. Before you go, what do you all think of me?

Dest: A simple shrug. “I don’t know you really. So I guess polite indifference.”
Stefan: “Annoying.”
Lance: “You are very curious.”
Alex: “A pest. Now go away before I squash you.”
Marielle: “I guess you are okay for a curious spoken.”
