3. What do you think others like or admire about you? (Two ocs of your choice!)

image

“Simple. My knowledge and skill of course. Without those I might not have survived the last ten years on my own. I knew I could do it and I did it. I put my knowledge to the test and proved myself. How can one not admire such?”

image

“My
enthusiasm

I guess. I have a desire to do something and I do it. My passion drives me. I don’t let those that mock me for a pretty face stop me from being what I want to be or doing the things I wish. I just push and try harder. I don’t like to groan or moan about jobs. They need done and someone has to do them. If not me then who?

(Thanks for asking! @lavendernest )

9. How important is education to your character?

image

“Very important of course. I would not be able to do the work I do now without a good education. Nor would I be able to enjoy reading the books that I do. So it is a very important thing for me to have.”

image

“The most important. If one wishes to truly find the best way possible to succeed then a good education is important. To understand the way things work and find better solutions. After all not everything can be solved on a battlefield. Plus a good tactician can make or break a fight. Knowing when to cast a specific spell or to direct allies to the proper place. Knowledge is power.”

( @chxsingthemoon )

Is there something they’d trade anything for? If so, what?

image

“My family of course. Because at the end of the day no matter what happens I always still have them to return to. When they were threatened I was willing to do whatever I needed to keep them safe. Even if it meant my freedom or my life.”

image

“Hmm… No. Not currently anyways. My family is strong enough that they don’t need me to protect them even if I was interested in such trivial things.” He frowns and looks away. “Research is not really worth such a sacrifice even if I were to come across some great find. I don’t make bargains like that.”

Lancefer Aurifore – Major Arcana

Tagged by: @cyrillien & @wowiedima

(Quiz here / More detailed card meanings here.)

The Hanged Man

The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed. In the face of disaster lies the opportunity for renewal.“

The
Hanged Man Arcana is associated with self-sacrifice for the sake of
enlightenment, the bindings that makes one free, paradoxes and hanging
between heaven and earth. You should take the time necessary to reflect
over one’s upcoming actions.

You are sometimes self-sacrificial,
but are more often notable for being caught between two different
extremes, parties or stages in life.

The Tarot Hanged Man card is about personal sacrifice, of course. But
this figure seems not to be broken, although hanging upside-down. He
will bounce right back, as soon as he manages to get free. It’s not that
he heals easily. The Tarot Hanged Man is one of the few who is not hurt
to begin with, as if invulnerable. Maybe that’s what tempts other
people to use him as a scapegoat.

But the Tarot Hanged Man is a martyr that neither dies nor suffers
that tremendously. He has a way of shaking it off, the essence of which
is his unharmed belief in the universal power of good. An optimist,
indeed. Someone who loves life so much that he sees the light of it and
not its shadows.

When victimized by other people, and that happens frequently, the
Hanged Man doesn’t feel like a victim. When exposed to envy or even
hate, he sees beyond it and pities the people who are so aggravated. The
Hanged Man may even blame himself, but not for long. He has trust in
all of mankind, however hard reality might whip him.

So, in a Tarot reading the Hanged Man card indicates a sacrifice, maybe
even a big one, but it will not be harmful at length. You will come out
of it on top. Like they say: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,
and in this case happier, too.

If the Tarot Hanged Man card refers to a person, which it often is, it
is someone who is willing to make the sacrifice needed for things to
find their solution – even if that sacrifice is completely unrewarded.
It is an attitude worth admiring, but people tend to do so only
secretly, keeping it to themselves. That may be out of guilt, knowing
they should have volunteered to make that sacrifice.

Weapons of Choice: Destiney

-Destiney’s fighting tactics-

Destiney in more recent years has taken on a less confrontational approach to battle. Preferring healing and protecting her allies rather then actually fighting. Her first and foremost actions are always to try an aetherically shield her allies in some way. If that fails, fix their wounds so they are not dying. (Non-lethal wounds are better saved for after battle treatment.) Often when she is geared for healing she will have Daisy at her side to aid in keeping her allies fighting. Sometimes even going as far as to borrow Daisy’s strength to increase her own if the situation calls for more drastic measures.

She knows a few offensive spells but not many. Mostly for her own protection if she happens to be without a weapon. Though she is known for hitting people with a book if she needs to…

She is also a Gridanian trained archer. She had all the necessary skills to be a member of the Gods’ Quiver like her father but changed her paths due to events in her life. Yet she still keeps her skills sharp even if not often used in actual battle as much.

So
many crows. He blinked in surprise and tried not to be alarmed. The
birds actually had seemed to be enjoying themselves in the snow. Not to
mention the fact that Svan did not seem the least bit worried about
their presence. If they were not harming anything there was no real
reason for alarm. Not that their gazes in his direction were
comfortable. It was like being the center of attention in a crowded
room.

Well if that was how it would be… He could easily pretend this was a
crowded room with a bunch of other upper class people staring him down.
Simply ignore them and let them have their fun. They weren’t hurting
anything by staring. His gaze went to Svan and he grinned as he caught
his breath for the moment.

“I work out pretty regularly.” He said as he was careful not to kick
or step on any of the crows as he made his way over to where Svan was
removing some sprigs with delicate precision. “You seemed to have
attracted quite the audience too. Friends of yours?” He meant it in jest
mostly since he didn’t know how true those words would end up being. “I
can help if you wish or at the very least stand guard while you work.
Would allow you to work without worry anyways.”

The crows would sidestep out of the knight’s way, others would ignore him, or stare at this strange man that the Tall Sister was suddenly familiar with. Svanielle would look about at the black peppering the snow terrain with a serene gaze.

“As expected of a knight, you really are devoted to your duty…..I guess you can say they are friends, the closest friends I ever had in my lifetime. Don’t worry about them they won’t hurt you…or rather most of them won’t. As long as you behave they have no reason to attack…you’re more than welcome to do what you wish, perhaps maybe introduce yourself to them?”

She would pause to inspect the bush, opting to find another area to pick. It was then one of the crows would walk up to Lancer and peck at his armored leg with curiosity. A few others started approaching closer, but keeping their distance. Svanielle would simply speak up without looking away from her work.

“They are quite social.“

Well that was unexpected. Though he had to agree that they seemed to be rather sociable. He looked down as one pecked at the armor on his leg to get his attention. He rooted through his pack and found a bit of knight’s bread he usually kept on hand. Never knowing how long he might be out and about rather then near civilization. Always handy to keep at least a roll of the bread on him.

Lance crouched down and broke off a small piece and offered it up to the curious crow, not even sure if they ate bread. “Hey there friend. I’m Lancefer Aurifore. I work as a knight for House Haillenarte.” He didn’t really feel that silly talking to a bird. Maybe just a little but some animals were very intelligent creatures. So it was not really totally strange to think they might actually understand him.

“My duty is about all I am good at. I’m not the heir of my household. I’m not much for the merchant business. Though I am the eldest of the children. I don’t mind. At least I am good at something.”
