Oh goodness. o_o; Um… Sure!

1. Video games (of course. I’ve made so many wonderful friends because of games. An things to write about an obsess with friends over. Stories to get lost in and daydream about.)

2. My quilt (My grandmother made it for me when I was little. It’s special to me and always has been. Even more so now that she is gone.)

3. Plushies (Yes soft plush things. I have a small army of them. Their cute smiling faces make me happy when I’m sad.)

4. Writing (I wouldn’t be RPing if I didn’t love to write. I get so excited when I come home to see someone I am writing with has left me a response.)

5. Close friends (The kind that you can talk to an obsess over the strangest things with. Or tell them about your bad day without free of being judged badly.)

Yes… I am strange. XD I’m sorry. You asked.

Game of Survival

“You just keep fighting. So very stubborn. No one is coming to save you. You are a lost cause. Just another face in the crowd. A worthless soul not even worth remembering.”

Destiney clamped her hands over her ears as she shook her head back an forth. The words just kept going. Always trying to wear her down and break her. Pushing for that edge or trying to find a crack in her protection.

Darkness. It lurked just outside of her shields. Just waiting. Lurking. Testing for cracks. Wanting to devour her. And she was just so tired… A little over two weeks. Only real moments of respite given to her in the brief times of waking.

“You know you just want to cave. They don’t love you. They never did. All they ever did was cause you pain and heartbreak. Why do you cling so desperately to people who have not even saved you. I will win. So why not just surrender and save yourself some pain.”

“NO!” Destiney screamed back in response to the words. To the claws that raked against those shields. Shivering with the chill that was creeping into her skin. She could tell she was losing the fight. Slow and painfully. Even if she could maintain the mental shields… Her body would give out first.

At first she hadn’t realized what she was fighting against until it had already begun it’s damage. It had distracted her with nightmares. Kept her occupied with her own dark emotions. It picked through her memories and emotions as if it owned the place. Once she had realized what was going on she had tried to protect things. Tried to keep things safe. But the strain had begun to wear on her. Slowly she had been forced to give ground. To retreat further and give up more to the darkness.

Then there had been moments when the pain was so strong she hadn’t been able to maintain those shields. That was when she had lost the most ground to the encroaching darkness. Ikara had told her it was when they had tried to cut parts of the curse that seemed to be causing her pain.

Yet those times had also given her strength to fight back stronger once the pain had disappeared. As if the curse had been momentarily weakened. But it couldn’t buy back the lost ground. It bought her time though. Time was what she desperately needed. It gave her brief respites where the darkness would prowl but not attack. Moments where she could breath and bolster her defenses again for the next round.

“You’ll never wake up. Trapped in an endless nightmare. Half-breed. Worthless. You should have died that day. Murder.”

“Stop!” Destiney curled up around the small shining light she was protecting with her body mentally. Every word felt like daggers drawn against her flesh. Some of the words she knew to be true but she tried to hard to deny the rest. Yet she was so tired… She could feel the darkness purring at the moment of weakness.

Waiting… Hungry… Claws like razors…
Ready to finish ripping her to shreds.

Faith. She had to hold strong. Just a bit longer. Never alone. That was the favorite saying for the company. Ikara had said she was working on a way to break the curse and return her to normal. All she had to do was hold on. Think about those who she cherished. Those important to her. Remember what she was fighting for. Even when all she wanted to do right now was shut her eyes for good. If she gave up now… The hurt she would cause to those she cared about.

Shaking hands wrapped around the silver bow laying beside her. No it was her whole body that was shaking. The cold was seeping in slowly. She needed time. Hells she needed saved. She could only fight against this so well on her own. Whoever had designed this had not meant for a person to survive. Not without help.

Tired blue eyes looked towards the heart of the darkness that lurked so dangerously close. She sat up as she tried to calm the trembling enough to pull back that bowstring. An arrow of ice blue light formed between her fingers, ready to be fired.

Names crossed her mind. A silent mantra to draw strength. Names of friends and family.
Her best friend Chee.

The names of her company mates that she considered family.

“Go away! You will not win!” Destiney cried out as she let go of that arrow. The shadow shrank back from the shields. Away from that arrow. An angry hiss from the darkness. Dest dropped the bow back to where it had been before tiredly curling back up around the light. Soft sobs as she held on tightly. She didn’t want to die. Not like this. Surely she had not survived everything to die here like this.

“Please… Help me…” Destiney pleaded softly. “I don’t know how much longer I can hold it back…”

Lance offered his healer friend a shrug and a smile. The man had
given Lance one of those looks. The look over the top of his glasses
that asked why he was tolerating this visit. The man set to work
examining Crow’s head wound as Lance stood nearby. He crossed his arms
as he found a clear space near a wall to lean.

“Don’t worry
about it. I’ll take care of whatever
Arthurioux

wants or needs. He’s been taking care of me for some time.” Lance
offered Crow a grin. “Just because Skyfire is a dull post doesn’t mean I
stay out of trouble.”

“Hardly ever mind you.”
Arthurioux

shook his head and sighed towards Lance. His hands were gentle as he
took to cleaning the head wound first before even making any attempts
with healing magic. “You’ve been in your fair share of fights in the
Brume with that Duskwight before. What was his name?”

“Let’s not bring him up.” Lance scowled an looked away.

“Lance
is a bleeding heart. Either he ends up on my doorstep or he comes with
someone else.” The older man explained to Crow as he checked over his
work before moving onto the healing magic, hoping to relieve the pain
and any serious damage that the young man might have suffered. “He means
well though.”

( @crowbrume from here – repost cause tumblr forgot to tell you an it’s way back in my posts now. This was just easier.)

Lance couldn’t help but laugh at the comment on the other knights. He might be a knight but he was often still different then most of them. It amused him rather then offend him that she would make such a comment. Yet he also understood as well.

His gaze went back towards Falcon’s Nest. A casual shrug in answer to her question at first as he turned back to look at her again. He hadn’t really explained that the work he was doing here was extra. To benefit a friend. So it had only been logical to think he was a knight in service out here regularly.

“They are technically not my superiors out here. My superior is in command of Skyfire Locks south of Dragonhead. This is by rights my day off but decided to put in some extra work helping out a friend from one of the other High Houses. I actually serve House Haillenarte not Durendaire.” He spoke as he adjusted his gauntlets. “Besides I have would rather be anywhere but Ishgard recently. So let us call this a distraction for me. Again only if you do not mind the company of a knight who does actually mean well.”

He laughed. This man had a sense of humor, something she couldn’t help but smile slightly about. A knight who was quite far away from his post, and yet he would take time to come out here instead. She knew it all too well, to be off-duty from work and yet continue to lend a hand to those who needed it, or rather doing such a thing of his own volition.

It was quite familiar. A hand rose to rest on her hip as she gave it some thought. She never needed an escort, she took careful consideration of her time out in the highlands. However, Lancefer didn’t seem like a bad person and it would be rude of her to turn him away when he offered his company. Funny that she would come to the conclusion that a potential friend could be made, maybe she found it interesting to find someone similar like herself.

“Well then, Ser Lancefer, let’s see if your training allowed you to keep up with a crazy ragged crow.”

She replied with a laugh as she swiftly descended the steps, but going at a certain pace as to not let him lose track of her. Ink simply narrowed his eye before taking off to the skies to track the pair from above.

“Oh so it is like that is it?” Lance chuckled as he watched Svan swiftly descend. He was almost glad that he was rarely lax in training. If she thought he might not be able to keep up he was ready to prove her wrong.

Lance followed suit down the steps, catching up with Svan. He matched his pace to hers with a grin that was almost taunting. As if to ask was this the best she could do. He figured if she tried she could probably out pace him in his usual armor. But it seemed she was being considerate. That was something that amused him.

“I seem to be keeping up just fine so far. I’m not one to sit around Skyfire on my backside all day. I have every intention of helping restore the Haillenarte name. Which means training daily.” He commented as he kept pace. His eyes were bright with the enjoyment this day was proving to be. He had expected another cold day of dull work. Instead he found a potential friend. Potential being the keyword as he still took a bit of time to trust anyone at that level after past incidents. “I still think you are not crazy though.”
