  • 22. At the peak of their fury, do they tend to be destructive? If so, how?

(Not really. For the most part Dest is a healer more then a fighter. At least at this time. It might change over time, especially with Stormblood adding Red Mage. As Destiney in FFXI was a Red Mage. However that remains to be decided if I’ll find a way to make that change for her or leave her as is. She does still have a bow and a few offensive spells as a Scholar. But for the most part she only really fights to protect. So she is not really very destructive.)

  • 23. Do they tend to destroy themselves or those around them?

(Dest is definitely self-destructive. Usually. So far there has only been once when she turned her anger and pain on someone else. An frankly he pushed for it. He hurt her so she hurt him back. Otherwise she tends to destroy herself.)

  • 24. Would your character sink a ship if it meant dragging their enemies down with them?

“Maybe. It would depend if the cost is worth it. I do not like the idea of such a cost at all. However I know this world is not that easy. If it was to protect those I hold dear… In a heartbeat.”

“Well there was that one ruin I went into with Esper… There was also a different ruin I went into with a team… Okay fine! My curiosity for ruins often leads to trouble. I can not help it! I have to explore and study and learn. Sometimes there are traps or… Things like mummies. It’s not like I am actively looking for trouble to get into!”

“Change anything… No. Maybe… Changing history would change the present. Not always for the better. Sometimes it just makes things worse. I wish I had not caused my mother such grief by running away. Yet… I might not be on my current path had I remained. I might have been forced a different direction had I not left when I did. I might not be the mage I am. I might have ended up in Ishgard for years like my sister. No I think I am more content the way things are then musing over what might have been had I changed my choices that day.”

“I enjoy art and music. Though I am afraid I am not well skilled in either. I will gladly listen to others who play beautifully or admire some skilled art. I’ve never been to a play or some of the other arts that might exist. I would not be against broadening my horizons.”

“As for curiosity… Very. Thankfully it has not gotten me into too much danger yet. At least none that I have not been able to get myself out of.”

“I… I don’t have time for such. Well… I haven’t before. My studies and surviving were always more important then such things. Then the study of ruins became a priority. So… I honestly can not say I enjoy any as I have never tried.”

“Curiosity is healthy. As long as caution is used so as not to run headlong into danger. I might… have gotten Esper and myself into a few sticky situations because of the curiosity that ruins tends to invoke in me. I no longer go into ruins along if I can help it.”

“The Sea of Clouds. The nights out there are absolutely gorgeous. The sky feels like it goes on forever and less clouds to obscure the view. So the amount of stars that can be seen feels endless. Like a field of stars.”

“Ruins. Any of them. The lesser known the better. The wealth of information and lost knowledge to be gleaned… That is a definite favorite of mine. I am especially interested in the lost cities like Nym, Mhach, and Amdapor.”

9. How important is education to your character?

“Very important of course. I would not be able to do the work I do now without a good education. Nor would I be able to enjoy reading the books that I do. So it is a very important thing for me to have.”

“The most important. If one wishes to truly find the best way possible to succeed then a good education is important. To understand the way things work and find better solutions. After all not everything can be solved on a battlefield. Plus a good tactician can make or break a fight. Knowing when to cast a specific spell or to direct allies to the proper place. Knowledge is power.”

“My family of course. Because at the end of the day no matter what happens I always still have them to return to. When they were threatened I was willing to do whatever I needed to keep them safe. Even if it meant my freedom or my life.”

“Hmm… No. Not currently anyways. My family is strong enough that they don’t need me to protect them even if I was interested in such trivial things.” He frowns and looks away. “Research is not really worth such a sacrifice even if I were to come across some great find. I don’t make bargains like that.”

“Hmm. Let’s see. Probably the time my brother an I took a bottle of alcohol that was gifted to our father by a friend of his in the wood wailers. We were barely thirteen an were curious. It was mostly my brother’s idea an instead of being the voice of reason I went along with it. I was so sick the next day. An our father was furious at us. We both ended up with extra chores an I ended up with extra practice as well.”
