(No not really. Her mood and outlook on life have a lot of varying factors but none of them related to the seasons. Sorry.)
Karigan paused an looked around in wonder at all the snow. However that moment of wonder was short lived. It was so bloody cold! Her eyes narrowed in obvious annoyance as she wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to get warm. One thing was for certain, she was no fan of winter weather. Once this job in Coerthas was done she wanted nothing more to do with this sort of weather. She much preferred the warm sea air and breezes.
“Bloody cold. How do the people here stand it?” She grumbles softly an trudges through the crunchy snow towards her destination.
(Karigan is probably the one who the seasons would effect the most. She grew up the daughter of a merchant/sailor. The weather on the seas changes with the seasons. As would her moods. She hates the cold/winter. Enjoys the summer the most. Finds Spring and Fall to be okay but not really her thing.)
Her hands lowered from the spell she had been working to cast, spell unfinished. Her eyes widened a fraction. Fingers beginning to tremble first before they tremors moved to other parts of her body. Mouth feeling as dry as the desert. Memories of blood and pain flashed through her mind, forcing her to squeeze her eyes shut yet it didn’t make it stop. Making her forget the job she was supposed to be here to do.
“Hey, Delvanguard! Where are those shields?”
Her breath caught in her throat as she forced herself to try an swallow the rising panic. Shaking hands raised again. Faint sparkles of aether drifting in the air as she pulled on the magic for the spell. Temporary arcane shields covering her front line allies as they fought against the band of Imperials traveling through the area. Forcing her turbulent emotions into a state of numbness for as long as possible.
Once the fighting was done. Once they were back into the safety of the city. Destiney slipped on the white half-mask she always carried with her. She told the leader where to send her share of the reward in a short clipped tone before parting ways. A empty side street with no one around. Her body sliding down the wall to sit against the ground. Her head in her hands as she breathes heavily to try an fight for a feeling of calm. To use the silence of being alone to fight against her own inner demons.
(For Dest the problem always seems to be changing. The biggest is trying to find a way past the fear an panic at fighting other people, especially if those people are Garlean related. Standing against people reminds her of the thing she did after leaving Ishgard. She can function to a degree but not well. It usually takes someone calling out to her to snap her focus back to the moment at hand. An then she just sort of forces herself to function until she can escape at the nearest possible moment. However she isn’t set into getting past it either right now. There’s no real motivating reason giving her a drive to fight it. I figure one way or another she will find the will to fight to get over it eventually. Not for the purposes of killing again but at least being able to stand an fight for those she cares about.)
(Destiney knows a bit of various styles of dance from both traveling and from Leon. He didn’t actually teach her to dance but she did watch his activities at one point which sometimes included the girls dancing for him. For her the way she dances depends on why she is dancing. An definitely if there is anyone watching or not.)
Destiney looked around the house before walking over to change the music that softly flowed from the Orchestrion. Time for a break from work. With a smile she twirled away from it as a different tune began to play. She closed her eyes an hummed along softly as she flowed with the music in her own style. A mix of different things. Yet still graceful an sweeping. Dancing with an imaginary partner at one point even. Another twirl followed by happy laughter. Not like any known dances yet containing fragments from various styles.
(Destiney has never actually planned a murder. Not completely anyways. Not unless you count those Imperial Soldiers she murdered. Yet it was supposed to be a sort of Murder/Suicide. However there is only so much planning she could do with what she did. She had not had the information to plan more then the where an when pretty much. She tried to research the Garleans while in Ishgard but there was precious little because of how closed off Ishgard has been up to that point. Beyond that she is not exactly a violent person. At this point in her life she wouldn’t even plot a murder as a joke.)
(Destiney in general usually has a LOT on her mind. So when she does zone out it usually consists of her thinking about whatever is bothering her lately. If nothing is bothering her at the current time then she tends to think about books or something she wants to know more about. Or about what she needs to do still. For Destiney keeping busy whether it’s just in her mind or physically is something she has made a habit of. Leon once taught her to use distractions to keep her mind off the things that haunted her. An sometimes… *hides the pictures* She will think about a handsome/pretty elezen she has seen lately that caught her eyes. So in a sense it is really hard to narrow it down to anything specific for her.)
(Destiney has only really ever had two people in her life that mattered when it came to relationships. Most others had been one night stands or friends with benefits. Before Ishgard she wasn’t really old enough to be worried about dating. An after Ishgard she wasn’t in a good mental state to even attempt. The only real time she faced any real rejection in terms of a relationship was with Leon the night she was drunk an kissed him. He pulled away an gave her the silent treatment for a few days. Which that scene I wrote here.)
(Lance has recently been rejected. Granted Miu was very kind in the way she rejected him. She tried her best to let him down gently. As such the two of them are still friends despite things not working for them as a couple. I wrote about that event here.)
“Dekkarra has been with me since childhood. He has always been there for me through everything. An even though I was broken for so long he was still there. He might not have known how to help me but he did his best. So what I love most about him is the fact that he is always there for me. I still don’t know what I did to deserve someone like him.”
(Well… being that their living space in the house only has one bed. Unless someone is sleeping on the couch on the other side of the room, they sleep in the same bed together as much as they can. Of course that is nights when they are both home at the same time. So if they are sleeping separately it is only because one of them didn’t come home that night for whatever reason. Usually work related.)

(For Dest it depends if there is something weighing on her mind or not. Though sometimes she tries not to burden Dek with her problems. So many of times she mostly just seeks the comfort of snuggling up with him an falling asleep that way. Sometimes he’ll do the talking an she’ll just listen as she drifts off. He doesn’t really mind though. Their relationship isn’t ideal but the two of them make it work somehow.)

(Destiney does in a sense have a type. She doesn’t often go out seeking though being married. But she has been known to have a one night stand now an again. An yes Dek knows as they have a open relationship. Her type is generally usually dark skinned wildwood or duskwights. Male usually but she has been known to have been seen with the occasional lady. Though she has also on occasion been seen with people other then elezen but her preferred type is definitely elezen.)

(Lance would prefer to talk. Not always something serious. Just sometimes enjoying listening to another person’s voice. Almost like a reassurance they are there. Generally he’ll try to remain awake till the other person falls asleep. Then just lay there looking at them for a little before finally closing his own eyes. Assuming of course he wasn’t exhausted from a long shift of duty.)

(He doesn’t really have much of a type at this time. He mostly wants someone interesting. Someone who has spark and drive. Someone who isn’t afraid to stand side by side with him in a fight. That is the kind of person he wants to find.)

(Kari would more then likely be straight to dreamland. Mostly because she would probably be worn out. She has never had much problems with falling asleep but she is a light sleeper.)

(Karigan doesn’t really have much of a type yet either. She hasn’t really attempted any relationships yet. She has been more focused on her life and goals rather then romance. But more then likely it would be someone who treats her with respect and is easy on the eyes at the very least.)

I seem to be neglecting to write in here as often as I used to. I guess life has been a bit busier then normal. Especially now with my cousin in the picture.
Lance and I have been spending time when we both can getting to know each other. It has been mostly casual. He hasn’t tried to pry for anything more then I am willing to speak with him on. Then again part of me is still waiting for him to stab me in the back. I don’t think he will though… I guess it is still part of me not ready to accept that someone from that side of the family actually cares.
He did mention the other night he had come looking for me to tend to some injuries he had gotten while on duty. I guess he got injured fending off an attack in a joint effort with some of the Fortemps troops from Dragonhead. Some aevis scored a lucky hit on him. Apparently Tara took care of it for him though.
He also mentioned some sparring match that happened while he was visiting. Something about Aras and Dusk. He didn’t have all the details as he and Tara had arrived towards the end of the match. Though he made mention of interest in challenging her himself sometime. As well as that he met Nate after. Who didn’t seem to be having a good day.
Speaking on Nate. I’m glad he has so much patience for me some days. I feel I have been rather snappish with him lately. I guess I am just still upset from last week’s mission. I don’t really mean to take it out on him. I mean we have moments where I feel like we might clash an I get so scared of what might happen if we do. I guess I should have a bit more faith. Faith that the bond between us is stronger then a few ill words.
I mean he did get a chance to see me use a bow for a change in the Twelveswood last week. Tara had gotten lost. Or rather something had spooked her chocobo. It was nice… Fighting side by side like that. Instead of just watching his back. We did manage to find Tara safe and sound though she had been chased by a few tempered Sylphs. Nate and I had gone to check an make sure they had all returned to their territory after they gave up the chase. Of course we found some stragglers. That was how Nate and I got to fight side by side. I was unlucky that day apparently though. One of the sylphs managed to catch me off guard an I was zapped pretty good. No real physical injury though besides feeling rather numb and tingly. Nate got us back to the house before actually carrying me inside on his back. I was a bit… embarrassed honestly. Mostly because there were others in the house at the time. But at the same time I was afraid I might trip an fall on my face with the way certain parts of my body felt numb. I knew it would wear off in time though. So it wasn’t like I hadn’t agreed to let him carry me.
Dusk pulled me aside once I was feeling a bit less numb. We stepped aside into my room to talk privately. Apparently she felt the need to caution me about Leera and Rose. She doesn’t want Leera anywhere near Rose. Our youngest an newest member. I understand she is young an still learning. However I was a bit offended that she felt the need to try an caution me yet again. I know Leera -can- be dangerous. I’ve always held a measure of caution when dealing with Leera ever since learning the truth about who an what he is. There is always a certain amount of caution needed when dealing with a predator. I want to believe Leera can be good, can do something more then be a tool for his creators. Even Oni when we had a discussion earlier in the day had believed there might be a chance for Leera to be a better person. He just needs to be taken away from the bad influences an given a chance. So I told Dusk my own opinions an what Oni had said. It was admitting Leera does need to change. Yet I still feel Leera does care about me in a way.
I had told Oni about the potion Leera had given to me. About how Felix thought it had been something to be used against him. That was how our discussion went from Oni’s new tools into talk of his sibling. I haven’t seen Leera for a bit of time now. He had told me I wouldn’t. But in our talk Oni did agree Leera wasn’t always the way he is now. That maybe if he was taken away from ‘father’ that there could be a chance for real change. I mean it is worth a shot if I can find a way. Why else would Leera care enough to keep speaking to me or even give me a potion for my own safety? I am certainly not -that- entertaining for him to be toying with me.
Oh! On a rather positive note. I survived my first cooking lesson with J’siris. I had offered him use of my new kitchen an he proceeded to teach me a stew. It actually turned out really well even with me helping make it. I didn’t even cut any fingers this time! I even took some to Lance before I joined the Order at the house for the evening.
Anyways I better finish my work before the mission this evening. It is nearly time.
