“I am afraid to admit it but I tend to notice first how a person looks overall. Most definitely their physical appearance. Of course I am no fool to believe just because I find someone attractive that they are a decent person. I do not judge the book by its cover.” She lowers her voice and looks away shyly before continuing. “While it is a bit shameful to admit… A part of me wants longs to find bits of Leon in those people. His eyes or skin tone or hair. An it ends up getting me teased on occasion for having eyes for Duskwights or darker skinned Wildwood. Not that I have actually gone looking for a long while. For reasons.”

“Eyes. I tend to notice the eyes first. Even those of us accustomed to wearing a mask can not always hide what our eyes show. The eyes are said to be the windows into one’s soul. They are sometimes more expressive then we are willing to openly show. Physical appearance matters less to me then who a person is on the inside. So I would rather look to a person’s eyes to determine what they might be like. If they are worth my time. If they possess that fire and passion I am looking for.”

“Sometimes. However I also feel it can be just as fragile as it is strong. I think whether it lasts forever or not depends on the person or people involved. Love is much like the future. It is not stone. There are so many small variables that can affect or change it. However if you find the right person I feel it is possible that it can. Finding that person though is the real challenge.”

“I think it can. Yet I am still waiting for the right person to come along and test that though. At least as far finding my other half goes that is. The love between family is another story entirely. I think what has begun between my cousin and I will become a bond that is unbreakable. The love for the rest of my family… It is strained though still there.”

(Finding her way into the ranks of the Order. Or at least I think that has been her greatest success. She had been finding her place in the world with them and healing from her past. With them she feels safe and happy most of the time. Even if Oni does sometimes turn her hair blue with his antics. She would probably consider not failing the Order so far as her own greatest success in her point of view.)

(Lance’s greatest success is hard. He’d probably say surviving this war and the Steel Vigil. While I think it’s more just surviving the things his family has been putting him through recently and what is to come.)

Merlwyb: Can my character swim?

“Of course I can swim. I grew up in the Twelveswood. It might not have the ocean but there are enough bodies of water that were deep enough for a kid to learn how to swim. I very much like the water.”

“Sadly no. My father wasn’t big on us learning things that were not needed as I was growing up. An then Coerthas and Ishgard froze over because of the Calamity. I do not fancy the idea of learning to swim in icy waters. Otherwise swimming has never really come to mind. Never seemed like something I needed to know how to do.”

(Karigan knows how to swim but won’t go near water that you can’t just safely stand in. Not after she nearly drowned once. That was all the more she needed to avoid going anywhere near boats or water again. Not that it was her fault. It was stormy and the ocean is never friendly in a storm.)

Crow let out a bitter chuckle and tilted head. “Anyway… Thank you for your concern, sir, but I don’t think that we’d ever met?” There was some suspicion heard in his voice, he tensed ready to run away if he needs to. The elezen knight who approached him didn’t look like he had bad intentions, but in places like this you could never know, and sometimes it may be a little too late.
