6. Do you think that killing is ever justified?

“As much as I would like to say no… As much as I prefer to say all life is precious… I know that would make me foolish. In some circumstances… There is little choice. Sometimes it comes down to you or them. Or someone you love is in danger if you don’t. I’m not sure it can be classified as justified but when there are few options available… Sometimes it is a necessary evil.”

“Of course. Do you think I would just stand there and allow someone to try and kill me? I will kill to survive if I must. However I am no blood thirsty warrior. I will only kill if needed. To me that is justified because I am defending myself. Some criminals are also justified in being killed. They deserve nothing less for their crimes. I am talking like severe cases such as murderers and traitors. The rest should rot in prison.”

“Yes. Some people are deserving of death. I would not wish to be the hand to merit that justice though. It may come to that though in time with the line of work I am pursuing. Hopefully by that time I will be ready for it. For now I shall continue to let others met out that justice.”

What would you consider a fate worse than death?

“Being forced to watch those I love be tortured or killed yet not be able to do anything to stop it.” Destiney looks away as she answers quietly, clearly uncomfortable by the question. “I can not… I would wish I was dead rather then watch something so cruel. Yet I know there are people out there that would be that cruel.”

“Being tortured most likely. It is not something I have ever truly stopped to consider. Maybe losing everything I have worked so hard to achieve in my short life” He taps a finger against his tome on the desk as he thinks. His ruby carbuncle rubbing against his leg. “Yet these questions… What purpose do they have? If we are held back by what ifs or what could be, then we are truly stifling ourselves. Fear is a potent thing. Life is unpredictable. All we can do is keep pushing forward and not spend time worrying over such trifling things such as this question.”

“Prison of course. It means the fun has ended. That someone has finally managed to capture me. I’d rather die then rot in some gods forsaken prison. Or even Witchdropped.” Alexois smirks as he sharpens his weapons. “I can’t torture Lancey or his cousin from prison. Can’t even have my steamy fun with Aeri if I’m behind bars. So here’s to not being caught alive.” He laughs boldly.

“I… I’m not going to answer this one…”

(For her this is definitely a difficult question. It’s something she won’t say is right or wrong. She’s starting to see her relationship with her ex-husband in this sort of way. She’s sort of begun to doubt she ever truly loved him when she compares what she felt for him to the way she felt for Leon or the way she currently feels about Nathaniel.)

“No. Never.”

“Maybe. I can not say. I do not give relationships much thought. I have studies to return to. Excuse me.”

“Sometimes. I think it depends on the situation. As I’ve heard stories of arranged couples. Surely they have intimate relationships without love. I’m not sure yet what I want for myself though in that regard.”

Volcano: What are you most afraid of?

“Losing those I care about.” Destiney answers softly as she looks away. “I know it is always a possibility. All I can do is keep trying to prevent it from happening. Yet at the same time I can not hold too tightly to those I care about for fear of driving them away as well. But it drives me, the risk of losing them every time we leave on a mission. It drives me to try harder. I would rather give my own life then to lose someone I care about.”

“Just the natural answer. Death of course. I have few other things to truly fear. Anything else by comparison is… Minor.” Stefan waves a hand dismissively. “There is still much left in life I wish to see or attempt to accomplish. To fall to death’s cold grasp too soon is my biggest fear.”

“Honestly? No. I just have to work that much harder rather then to waste time being jealous of someone or something.”

“Maybe? I’m not entirely sure whether I am or not. I’ve barely begun my life outside in the world. No one has really given me anything to be jealous of to find out.”

“Hells yes. I will freely admit such. Hands off what I claim as mine unless you wish to lose a hand or a life. If you have something I want I might just take. Fury be damned if I’m let rules or laws stop me now.”

“It would honestly depend upon the fairytale. I do like some of them. However I am not particularly a fan of those where the woman is portrayed as needing to be rescued. They usually portray the woman as weaker and that she needs the man to save her from bad things. A damsel in distress.” Destiney scoffs and crosses her arms at the thought. “I’ve read more then enough of such stories and I dislike them. Not to say I am against a fairytale where the couple still ends up happily ever after. I will admit I like a bit of a romantic aspect in a fairytale.”

“No. Fairytales only sometimes contain a portion of truth to them. I would rather skip such fanciful stories for something a bit more interesting. Life is no fairytale. One will not simply find a happily ever after. We all make our own paths in life. Do not expect happiness to find or save you.”

Summer: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

“Craziest thing? Well depends on a person’s definition of crazy. To me something may seem mundane while to someone else it may seem crazy.” He pushes his glasses up his nose as his ruby carbuncle sits curled up at his feet. “I would have to say exploring ruins alone. There are plenty of dangers out there in searching ruins. However my ruby friend and I have managed well enough thus far.” He reaches down to gently pet the head of the carbuncle.

“Other then that some may even consider my running away from home at fifteen and surviving on my own to be crazy. However that is quite the story and I do not feel like sharing that at this time.”
