Destiney laid her head down on her husband’s leg as she watched with a sleepy smile. The weather was so warm and comfortable here beneath the trees. The fall sunshine was just right. His hand brushing through the locks of her hair.
The sound of a child’s laughter and the playful growl of a wolf. No longer a pup anymore, Tucker nosed the small elezen girl who giggled. Tiny hands grabbed for the wolf’s nose playfully. The girl no more then a toddler. A small blue dragon watching off to the side with a snort at the wolf and child.
She had retired from adventuring when she had gotten pregnant with their daughter. Retired from being a healer for the Order. She loved them greatly and hated having to leave them. But it had been for the best as she watched her daughter with Lady and Tucker. Now even more so she felt like her mother. Leaving behind the dangers to raise a family. Taking up botany to keep making gil without her job as a healer. After all someone had to take care of their daughter.
Not that she liked the idea of letting him go off into danger without her. Yet if one of them didn’t make it then their daughter would end up with her grandmother in Gridania. There was no way she wished for her daughter to lose both of her parents. Losing her own father had been hard enough. Not that her mother wouldn’t be loving to the girl. Destiney just wanted to be there for her own child like her parents had been there for her.
Stefan wandered up with Lancefer at his side. The child running with a happy cry over towards her uncles. Lance reaching down to scoop up the little girl who squealed in delight.
Yes. This was how things should be. She had everything she wanted. Her family. Her friends. What more was there to want? Nothing that was more important then days like this.
