Kheda groaned quietly, trying to push herself up into even a sitting position. However, before long, her arms gave out again, and she simply collapsed to the ground. She would recover eventually, but she needed to rest if she wanted to be able to stand and get to safety.
Of course, that meant that she was vulnerable, but what other choice did she have?
Upon hearing footsteps, the Miqo’te turned her head slowly, seeing the silhouette of a nearby figure. It didn’t look like the people that attacked her, but her heart started pounding again.
“Who’s there?”
Destiney’s steps paused a safe distance from the fallen miqo’te woman as Kheda asked who was there. Her expression was concerned but she managed a friendly smile anyways. It was quite obvious to her that the other woman was hurt. Though she also knew better then to help a conscious victim without making sure her help was welcome. Just in case the person might lash out in fear or panic.
“Just someone passing through. I promise I won’t hurt you.” Destiney crouched down to be at better height for responding to the injured Kheda. She kept her voice calm and even as she spoke. “My name is Destiney. Do you need some help?”
Destiney laughs softly before giving the other woman a casual shrug. “Think nothing of it. I’m used to helping people actually. Sometimes without a moments notice. It’s just what I do. Besides I can wander about the Twelveswood whenever I want. It’s not going anywhere.”
Destiney heads off in the direction that Nozomi should have gone to begin with. Keeping her pace leisurely so that the injured woman could keep up easily. “The bow is something left over from my childhood. I work as a healer now so helping people is second nature. So there is never a need to apologize for asking me for help. I think the only people I would probably not help are Garleans sided to the Empire or people that have tried to hurt me or my family. You don’t appear to be either.”
